Cultural Safety

Aotearoa / New Zealand is a multi-cultural society, and UP International College NZ is a multi-cultural school. Students may find that life in Aotearoa / New Zealand is very different to their home country.

The founding document of Aotearoa / New Zealand is the Treaty of Waitangi. All people in the country have basic human rights and freedoms they are entitled to, no matter what their age, ethnicity, culture, religion or sex.

UPICNZ students will be exposed to the uniqueness of the Aotearoa / New Zealand culture. They are expected learn, understand, and follow the cultural values of this country.  They must respect the cultures of others and treat each other with kindness and understanding. Students that do not do so may be subject to school disciplinary procedure.
